Elementary STEM Lab
An LJ Create Elementary STEM Lab is designed around this methodology, using a combination of digital presentations, virtual simulations and investigations, hands-on practical experiments, open ended projects and computer-based assessments to engage the students while meeting the standards that must be taught in today’s 21st Century classrooms.
Our Living with STEM courses provide a comprehensive set of lessons for an elementary science or STEM program. Our hands-on digital courses teach standards-based science, technology, and engineering, and are supplemented with a range of support materials for English and Math.
We also offer an introductory course dedicated to STEM career exploration.

Our active learning program is composed of creative hands-on tasks and interactive software that work together so students can actively engage in their own learning. Prepared hardware kits with low consumables help you get the most out of our program. Many of our lessons also include exciting simulators that provide students with an introduction to the real-world application of STEM without leaving the classroom.

Resources
A sample Elementary STEM Exploration Lab could include the following resources:
500-02
The data logging kit includes a robust carry case for safe storage and use, both in the lab and in outdoor experiments. Please note that for some activities, the data logging kit is used in conjunction with items from other kits.
506-06
This robot combines hardware with software… and teaches coding to all. It is equipped with an impressive blend of character and technology.
506-20
The Elementary Engineering Construction Kit is a classroom-based resource to investigate designing, building, and testing machines and other mechanical systems.
500-01
The Apparatus Kit provides the equipment and consumables required for a range of experiments across the whole of the Living with STEM program. This kit is available as a four-pack and can be used for group or whole class instruction.
500-03
The Problem Solving Kit lets students explore the techniques and methods used in scientific experimentation and understanding. The kit is designed to help develop learners' instincts and skills for scientific enquiry.
500-15
The Electrical Circuits Kit comprises all that is needed to investigate simple electrical circuits and components. The large scale mounted components include a lamp, switch, battery, buzzer, and electromagnet. Each component has been designed for elementary level teaching and is connected by simple leads and crocodile clips.
500-07
The Human Torso Kit enables the investigation of fundamental human biology. The model allows for each of the main organs to be removed and replaced, to help students develop an understanding of their function and location.
510-03
This kit is used to investigate some key topics in human biology. It contains all that is needed for most activities, though some activities might require access to data logging equipment.
500-08
The Handheld Microscope Kit enables students to explore on screen a variety of samples and material characteristics invisible to the human eye.
500-05
The TacTic Construction Kit is a superb large scale modeling resource, ideal for group or team work.
500-13
The Energy of the Wind Class Activity Pack provides a package of items to enable groups of learners (up to 30 students) to explore the power of the wind, and how science uses this power in modern energy creation.
500-14
The Sound and Light Kit contains our unique light rays box, as well as some familiar science equipment used to investigate light, sound, and waves.
500-16
The Properties of Materials Kit contains a mixture of everyday objects and materials for learners to investigate. Practical tasks will ask students to consider:
500-17
The Motion Kit allows learners to experiment with a marble run game to investigate the factors that can change the motion of a marble. Students will build a marble run using a range of pieces to alter the marble's direction and gradient. The kit also includes resources to investigate other ways in which we can make things move using forces such as wind.
500-18
The Forces Kit comprises a range of experimental resources to investigate the physical forces that act upon all objects. The hands-on kit will introduce concepts of pushing and pulling forces, as well as the ways in which they can be measured.
500-19
The Energy and Speed Kit contains a toy car and track system that, when used with timing and data logging devices, enables exploration of the links between energy and speed in moving bodies.
500-20
This engaging whole-class activity enables students to craft models of plants and bees to animate the pollination process. This pack is suitable for groups of up to 30 learners.
500-22
This unique activity pack provides the materials to create a hand-held periscope to investigate optics and explore practical applications of mirrors. This pack is suitable for groups of up to 30 learners.
500-01 & 500-02
Our Student and Teacher Math Kits will equip you with all you need to carry out each of the practical math activities included in your LJ Create Living with STEM program.
State Standards-Based Labs
At LJ Create, our content exists because you need to teach it. Our content creators have all been in the teaching profession, and understand the challenges in the field. We create hardware and software solutions built to meet specific standards that you teach in the classroom, so your students can be prepared for state testing and industry certification tests.
To meet the demanding needs of today’s classroom, our content is updated as your teaching standards change, so you won’t have to worry about the mapping.
Here is a sampling of the standards that we currently use to build our programs:
-
ASE Education Foundation standards for MLR, AST, & MAST
-
Electronics Technicians Association - Student Electronics Technician (ETA - SET)
-
ITEEA - Engineering, Technology, and Science Standards
-
ITEEA - Standards for Technological Literacy
-
Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS)
-
Next Generation Sunshine State Standards (NGSSS)
-
Ohio’s New Learning Standards
-
REC Foundation - Pre-Engineering
-
REC Foundation - Robotics
-
Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills for Career and Technical Education (CTE TEKS)
-

zSpace in K12 Education
zSpace applications engage students in standards-based learning experiences that align with the curriculum. Students construct knowledge and understanding of concepts across multiple curriculum areas with a strong focus on STEM subjects.
Learning with zSpace
zSpace provides experiences and the medium to support instruction and students’ learning and curiosity. Students learn by asking questions, gathering information, developing models, testing ideas, analyzing data, and developing conclusions. Teachers facilitate learning by setting up tools and resources that help students through the lesson.

zSpace Learning Applications
"Every time I visit a zSpace class, the kids are 100 percent engaged, they absolutely love it and they can’t wait to get a visitor’s attention and share what they are doing."
