Amatrol’s Smart Factory Network Communications Learning Systems come in both Allen-Bradley and Siemens versions:

  • Allen-Bradley: Smart Factory Ethernet Learning System – AB CompactLogix L16 (87-ENAB53B)

  • Siemens: Smart Factory PROFINET Learning System – Siemens S7-1500 (87-ENS715)

These systems teach Ethernet (Allen-Bradley) or PROFINET (Siemens) network communications between connected automated devices in a Smart Factory environment to efficiently control and monitor automated manufacturing processes.

The Smart Factory network communications training systems feature real-world equipment learners will encounter on the job, including both managed and unmanaged network switches. The systems combine hands-on skills practice with in-depth multimedia curriculum for a well-rounded learning experience that will prepare learners to make an immediate impact in the technologically-advanced Smart Factory environments of the present and future.

Study Smart Factory Components and Practice on Real-World Equipment

Amatrol’s network communications training systems teach learners essential skills using industrial-quality equipment they’ll use in the workplace. For example, learners will gain valuable hands-on experience with both a 16-port unmanaged Gigabit Ethernet switch and an 8-port managed Ethernet/IP switch (Allen-Bradley) or 8-port managed PROFINET switch (Siemens). Using this real-world equipment, learners will practice specific skills, such as operating, configuring, and viewing network diagnostics using a managed switch.

Learn Industry-Applicable Network Communication Skills

Amatrol’s comprehensive curriculum covers a wide variety of important network communications skills. For example, learners will study industrial networks, Ethernet network topologies, Ethernet subnets, and the basic components of industrial network security. Additional skills and topics include assigning IP addresses to robots and PLCs, designing a PLC program that uses discrete I/O handshaking, and configuring a virtual LAN using a managed Ethernet switch.
